Con la convocación de más de 250 críticos y realizadores de distintas partes del mundo, el sitio World of Reel, del periodista canadiense Jordan Ruimy, elaboró un ránking de las 75 mejores películas de la década.
La película más votada fue «Mad Max: Fury Road» del año 2015, que fue dirigida por el australiano George Miller y en la que trabajó Tom Hardy y Charlize Theron. El galardón llega a la cuarta película de la saga, que en los años 80 tuvo como protagonista a Mel Gibson, quien debía luchar contra enemigos en un mundo apocalíptico donde el agua y la gasolina escaseaban.
Le siguen en el podio «El árbol de la vida» del año 2011, de Terrence Malick y en tercer puesto quedó el filme ganador de tres Óscar «Moonlight», año 2016 de Barry Jenkis.
